Recently, the Confucius Classroom at Kutaisi University held a meeting for new students for the fall semester of 2024. At this meeting, Giovanni Datushvili, the foreign director of the Confucius Classroom, introduced the enrollment prospectus to all students and parents. Yan Huizhen, the public teacher, gave a presentation on the course curriculum, selection of teaching materials, teaching methods, and assessment methods. Deng Ning, the Chinese director, discussed the organization of activities related to experiencing Chinese culture and language to assist students in their future planning.
During the meeting, the enrollees and their parents showed great interest in China and Chinese culture. Gela, an 11-year-old fifth-grader, expressed her eagerness to visit China, her love for the Chinese mascot for the Year of the Dragon, and her hope to study in China by learning Chinese. Her mother, Nino, promised to do her best to help her son realize his dream.
Margalita, an adult learner, was excited to share that learning Chinese had been her dream since childhood, but she hadn't found a teacher until now. Recently, she learned about the Confucius Classroom's enrollment through the Internet and her friends' introductions. She eagerly enrolled, believing that learning Chinese will greatly benefit her career in tourism.
Currently, the number of enrollments in the social interest classes at the Confucius Classroom has exceeded 40. It is expected that three new HSK level 1 classes will open in the fall semester. In the future, we plan to design a scientific and practical Chinese training program tailored to the local community's needs.
This new student meeting is also part of the series of activities for the Confucius Institute Day 2024.
