The Confucius Institute at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus, was created by the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, and the China Agricultural University in June 2013. It is committed to conducting Chinese language teaching and cultural exchange in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. It builds a bridge for communication and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education and culture. At the same time, it serves as a platform for the two universities to enhance communication and cooperation.

Distinctive and Key Programs

      China-Trinidad and Tobago Agricultural Innovation Park" Project
      In February 2014, under the witness of the then Prime Minister Bissar of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, China Agricultural University and the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus, signed a framework agreement for the "China-Trinidad and Tobago Agricultural Innovation Park" project. Subsequently, the two universities formed an expert group to promote the overall planning and design of the project. On December 10, 2014, the two universities jointly signed an agreement for the implementation of the "China-Trinidad and Tobago Agricultural Innovation Park" project. The two universities organically integrate the Confucius Institute and the Agricultural Innovation Park with the aim of enhancing cultural exchange and disseminating agricultural knowledge.
