
To further standardise the management of the Confucius Institute brand, continue to advance brand standardisation, and better serve the objectives of sustainable and high-quality development for Confucius Institutes worldwide, the 2026 Revised Edition of the Confucius Institute bilingual glossary (Chinese-English) is hereby published.
This revision is grounded in the practical realities and developmental needs of brand building. It optimises and refines the glossary system by adding nine new brand terms, including "Young Sinologist", "The Year of Digital Intelligence for the Confucius Institute", "Global Alliance of Confucius Institute with Agricultural Characteristics", "REDnote Account of the Confucius Institute", whilst removing certain terms that have become less relevant; and revising terms such as "Chinese Director-Elect of the Confucius Institute". A total of 94 terms have been revised and published in this edition.
We welcome valuable feedback and suggestions from CIers and experts and scholars from all sectors to jointly promote the higher-level and higher-quality development of the Confucius Institute brand.
